apple, making more pie… tablet, anyone ?

we all know that reading is dope, but is apple going to transform the reading experience and reignite the fireeeee??? (read fire, with excitement dot dot dot)

so… now that we been waiting since year zero for something like this. apple took their time to slow bake this pie, and make sure its fully roasted before giving us a peek, just so you can drool some more. yes, the technology has been around for some time, but no one yet did master the business model to make it work.

in typical fashion, apple is about to say yes or no on it tomorrow. lets keep our pretty fingers crossed, hope that the fairy tale continues, and watch stevie & co. pull another rabbit out the hat. hopefully apple delivers the scratch …

meanwhile, gizmodo has the geek team on standby (they must be real itchy by now):

“The Apple tablet could change everything. That’s what people are hoping for, revolution. But revolutions don’t actually happen overnight, especially if you’re talking about turning around an entire diseased, lumbering industry, like publishing.”

DUSTER CONCEPT CROSSOVER FROM DACIA UNVEILED AT GENEVA MOTORSHOW

… yes, Dacia is an Eastern European (Romanian) car brand, that is suffering from major case of design mojo right now, with a little the help from Renault parent. These maybe a little to far off to be a real car, but lets hope that some of the design elements here will make it to the production models down the line.

Dacia was reborn after a combination of quick cash injections and government protection, and has launched as a serious manufaturer of low cost and quality cars. Im speaking here about the new Dacia Logan that has become somewhat famous for the built quality, price and options.  For now enjoy this slice of designed, well done!

Here are some of the points as presented at the 2009 Geneva Motorshow:

• Duster is Dacia’s first concept car and the fruit of close collaboration between Renault Design Central Europe in Bucharest, Romania, and Renault Design Technocentre in Guyancourt, France.

• Duster’s athletic stance adds an undeniable sporty feel to the brand’s hallmark robustness.

• Inside, the use of colour, generous cabin space and an original modular layout ensure a particularly convivial ambience for occupants.

2009 Nissan 370Z | Design Dissected

5 point list for the original Z car

1.) A coupe design for safety and comfort.
2.) A style that would set it apart from other coupes.
3.) A design that allowed part sharing for lower development costs.
4.) An innovative use of design and technology.
5.) It had to be functional and fast.

“The outgoing 350Z was a great attempt to rebirth these original design philosophies… it appears Nissan’s attempted to combat this, shortening the 370Z significantly and returning it to the 99-inch wheelbase, long regarded as the “perfect” sports car wheelbase. This cut in length translates into a lighter, more taught Z; the added horsepower doesn’t hurt either. Katayama would be proud.”

corvette stingray is back | aka sideswipe in transformers – revenge of the fallen

c1

For now, it remains in concept-land … Lets hope so GM will go to production with this concept, because this one is definitely a car that deserves attention. With this new design, the GM crew took it back to basics. Heavily inspired on the original, this is one sizzling design.

with this said… on to the pics.

“For now, though, the show car’s purpose in life is to celebrate 100 years of motoring history at GM, and of course, fight evil as “Sideswipe” in Revenge of the Fallen. As always, reception will be an important factor in production consideration.”

12 Unexpected Examples Of Car Part Prostitution

invicta_s1_01

It’s fairly common knowledge that a $100,000 Corvette ZR1 shares much of its steering wheel with a $20,000 Chevy Cobalt. You can also find a VW key fob swabbed with leather when you ignite the W16 in a Bugatti Veyron, but we wanted to know more. Our friends at The Car Lounge helped a great deal by showing us some of the lesser known “common parts” between the cars below and their more exotic and luxurious brethren.
